We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sub Agent to join a major Tier 1 infrastructure project in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a nationally significant scheme, delivering complex civil engineering works as part of a high-performing project team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sections of work to ensure delivery against programme requirements.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, materials and plant resources.
- Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor progress and report performance against programme milestones.
- Manage quality assurance documentation and inspection records.
- Produce and review RAMS, ITPs and work package plans.
- Support commercial teams with progress reporting, compensation events and cost control.
- Liaise with client representatives, stakeholders and the wider delivery team.
- Mentor Site Engineers and support their professional development.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture on site.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Experience managing earthworks, drainage, highways, structures or reinforced concrete works.
- Ability to lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
- First Aid at Work.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
