Our client a civil engineering contractor requires a Sub Agent to join their team on a permanent basis.
There work covers the South East region and is the whole of the M25, Surrey, East & West Sussex and Kent.
They also undertake works outside of these areas, at present they have schemes in Hampshire and Hertfordshire.
The value of schemes varies from £20k to £10m which include but are not limited to S 278 works, highway works, geotechnical projects, pinch point/junction upgrades, SI works, filterdrain & balancing pond improvement, bridges replacements & new builds, fuel depot improvements and everything in-between.
Main duties:
- Programme works, ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of the resources’
- Implement and monitor health and safety, quality and environment requirements and standards
- Prepare method statements as required. Organise briefings on method statements to relevant staff and operatives within their area
- Liaise with senior foreman on daily basis issues related with programme, resources, production, productivity necessary to meet with programme requirements
- Support site agent with day to day running of project
- Monitor quality, safety and environmental systems and promote a safety culture in full support of our 100% SAFE value
- Implement applicable quality plan requirements. Liaise with project quality manager concerning quality issues
- Implement appropriate policies and procedures
- Manage project risk in line with company procedures
- Ensure all personnel are provided with necessary training
- Promote best practice amongst engineering staff and encourage their career progression
- Completion of daily and weekly record returns
- Effective and efficient organisation of labour direct, sub contract and agency
- Managing of company and client induction processes
- Attending and contributing to progress meeting with site agent
- Monitor and report the performance of the supply chain partners
- Ensure works are completed on time, within budget and to specification
- Develop and promote best practice and business improvement within the organisation and contribute to our Perfect Delivery culture
- Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering
- Hands on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project
- Civil engineering and construction experience
- Able to produce and explain accurate plans and drawings
- Good IT skills and able to work confidently with MS Office and other system applications
- Able to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
- Good project management, communication and financial management skills
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
- Excellent communication and people and team management skills
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality
- Ability to develop friendly and professional customer focused relations with others
- Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
Education:
- Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
- Relevant CSCS card
- 5 day CSCS Safety qualification
