Job Title: Sub Agent

Location: North Wales

Job Overview: The Sub Agent plays a pivotal role in the management and execution of construction projects. They work closely with the Senior Site Agent or Project Manager to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Site Agent or Project Manager to develop project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

  2. Site Management: Oversee day-to-day site operations, including subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and workforce management.

  3. Health and Safety: Ensure that all works on the site comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.

  4. Quality Control: Monitor construction work to maintain quality standards and rectify any defects or issues promptly.

  5. Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including contract administration, performance evaluation, and dispute resolution.

  6. Progress Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Senior Site Agent or Project Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

  7. Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  8. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  9. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.

  10. Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, permits, and contracts.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.

  2. Experience: Several years of experience in construction, with a proven track record of working in a similar role on civil engineering or construction projects.

  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software, construction management tools, and a strong understanding of construction techniques and materials.

  4. Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is advantageous.

  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for liaising with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

  6. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges effectively.

  7. Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and make decisions under pressure.

  8. Health and Safety: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
