An excellent opportunity exists with a tier one principal contractor in West Yorkshire, for a Sub Agent to take charge of a specific section or a discipline, whilst managing and overseeing Section Engineers and Site Engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prioritizing safety above all else
- Inspiring and managing team performance, providing training and coaching as needed.
- Reviewing and improving Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Analysing trends and identifying areas for improvement from audits and near misses
- Conducting field audits to ensure proper control documentation.
- Issuing and enforcing Permits to Work, including Confined Space Permits and Hot Works Permits
- Demonstrating expertise in temporary works and understanding implementation timelines
- Managing subcontractors and understanding cost and value dynamics
- Handling correspondence with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
Requirements for this opportunity include -
- Preferable a civil engineering qualification (BSc/HND/HNC)
- Demonstrable engineering progression with a principal UK Contractor.
- Previous experience with a UK contractor in a similar position managing projects up to £50m
- Proficiency in construction processes of Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Structures, and Roadworks
- Effectively communicate safety protocols
- Takes initiative and seeks opportunities.
- Valid driving license, CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS
- A team player capable of working independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Serve as role model.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of current H&S Legislation
- Have expertise in setting out techniques and coaching team members.
- Familiar with Contract Documentation e.g. NEC
- Pursuit or attainment of professional accreditation
On offer is a base salary of £52k/a plus company car, mileage, health, pension and a shares scheme option.
