Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Sub Agent to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a key package of works on the HS2 programme in Buckinghamshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, supporting site delivery, team leadership, and the successful execution of complex civil engineering works.
The Role
As Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the planning and delivery of works in line with programme and budget

Managing site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors

Ensuring compliance with HS2, health & safety, environmental, and quality standards

Coordinating daily site activities and resolving technical or delivery issues

Supporting cost control, progress reporting, and short-term planning

Promoting a strong safety culture across site operations
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:

Proven experience as a Sub Agent, Assistant Agent, or Section Agent on major civil engineering projects

Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor (highly desirable)

Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or rail projects (HS2 experience advantageous)

Strong leadership and communication skills

A solid understanding of construction methodologies, health & safety, and quality processes

A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
