Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Sub Agent (Structures) to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Gloucestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Sub Agent to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex structural works, including reinforced concrete structures, bridges, retaining walls and associated civil engineering works on a nationally significant highways scheme.
Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing sections of work from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of structural packages on site
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with specifications, drawings and programme requirements
- Supporting the planning and sequencing of works to maximise productivity
- Managing quality assurance processes, including ITPs and inspection records
- Reviewing and implementing RAMS and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
- Monitoring progress and reporting on programme, costs and risks
- Liaising with client representatives, design teams and key stakeholders
- Supporting the commercial team with change management and compensation events where required
- Driving a positive safety and quality culture across the project
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Sub Agent, Senior Engineer or Section Engineer on major civil engineering projects
- Strong structures experience, including reinforced concrete, bridges, retaining structures or similar heavy civils works
- Experience working on highways, infrastructure or major projects environments
- Good understanding of NEC contracts
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- CSCS Card essential
- SMSTS preferred
- Temporary Works knowledge would be advantageous
