Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our client in a permanent position in South West Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in road and asphalt construction and will lead the execution of projects in alignment with our company standards and contract requirements. This role demands a proactive leader who is committed to safety, quality, and effective project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Lead and oversee the execution of road and asphalt construction projects in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Safety First: Model and promote safety in all work aspects. Conduct safety meetings, enforce compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations, and ensure adherence to our client's safety program and policies.
  • Project Ownership: Take ownership of projects by becoming an expert in the project plans and specifications.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage and coordinate all construction activities, including the scheduling of equipment, materials, and manpower to optimize safe execution, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee and coordinate subcontractors' work activities, schedules, and quality to meet project goals.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, including the project manager, main office, and owners, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely project reports, progress updates, cost estimates, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Maintain oversight of project budgets and schedules, assisting management in achieving or exceeding project targets.
  • Mentorship: Provide leadership and guidance to foremen, fostering learning and promoting the upward movement of crew members across all disciplines.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and organized project records, including documentation of all project-related correspondence, approvals, quantities, and activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to road construction to continuously improve project outcomes and performance.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the care and maintenance of equipment, coordinating repairs and planned maintenance with company maintenance technicians.
  • Preconstruction Activities: Assist in the coordination and execution of preconstruction activities as needed.
  • Procedure Development: Assist management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, and standards to ensure project goals are achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in road and asphalt construction.
