JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:    Project/ Survey Manager- Monitoring and Instrumentation

LOCATION:    Central London

REPORTS TO: Head of Business Group

PRIMARY PURPOSE   

To project manage the survey and automated instrumentation systems,  ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and are delivered on time within budget, keeping the client and internal personnel/functions up to date with project progress in a timely manner

To manage Project Engineer where appropriate, who will support on larger projects and run their own smaller projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To control and be accountable for the estimate of a project, which will include identifying the scope of the work, the project specification, visiting site when necessary and consulting with technical staff and other managers as appropriate.

Provide full project briefing and instruction to the project teams to ensure scope, specification and targets are understood and accepted.

To take responsibility for effective resourcing of projects they are responsible for liaising with other PMs to ensure overall Business Group resourcing is effective, and negotiating the price with external suppliers at the outset.

To produce project plans ensuring that project scope and project objectives are fully incorporated and agreed. Monitor project risks and develop strategies to manage these risks.

To maintain frequent communication with Leads, and Junior Project Managers/Project Support where appropriate, to track project progress and if required take remedial action to ensure project objectives are met.

Via regular communication with Account Managers, Leads and Junior Project Managers/Project Engineers/Project Support where appropriate, to maintain contact with the Client and Project Sponsor proactively providing regular progress reports on the project.

To gain Project Sponsor agreement for any changes to project scope, and to ensure a commercial approach is taken to effectively manage any such changes.

To ensure data and file management and quality control processes are carried out in line with Company policy.

Be actively involved with business development within the monitoring market. Proactively seek out opportunities and develop proposals in support of companys expansion plan.

To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested

 

QUALFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

A degree in an engineering, surveying or management discipline.

Experience in survey or monitoring systems and/or construction management with proven project delivery.

Experience in specification review and tender production.

Experience of data interpretation and management.

Experience in monitoring system design and problem solving.
