An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Surveyor to join a highly regarded Tier 1 contractor in Felixstowe.
The Felixstowe Capacity Enhancement Scheme is a £60m investment, as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan and funded by the Strategic Freight Network and a contribution from Hutchinson Ports UK.
The work is upgrading the Felixstowe branch line and building the space needed for 1.4km of extra track, built as a loop line, to be laid between Trimley and the level crossing at Gun Lane.
Main Duties:
· Collecting asbuilt information using Leica total station
· Collating data from other surveyors
· Turning MicroStation files into AutoCAD
· Updating as-builts
· Mark up Red line drawings that need to be formatted into AutoCAD
Desired Knowledge / Experience
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience using AutoCAD.
· Working knowledge of a 3D modelling package.
· To use AutoCAD 2004 or higher.
· Working knowledge of MicroStation and ESRI Shape files
· Ability to prioritise workloads in an effective manner.
· The ability to deal with a high workload and work well under pressure.
· Excellent organisation skills, flexible with good interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to commit to deadlines and willing to work extra hours when needed.
· Hold a valid CSCS card
· BSc or BEng level qualification in Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC/ HND or the equivalent
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word & Excel
· Degree/HND qualified
· Computer literate
