We are currently seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and heavy civils projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Temporary Works Coordinator on major civils projects.
- Manage the temporary works process in accordance with BS 5975.
- Coordinate temporary works designs and approvals with designers, site teams, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all temporary works are properly identified, planned, implemented, maintained, and dismantled.
- Maintain Temporary Works Registers and associated documentation.
- Chair Temporary Works meetings and provide technical guidance to operational teams.
- Ensure inspections are completed and permits are issued where required.
- Promote the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance across projects.
Requirements
- CITB Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification.
- Proven experience working within civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, rail, water, utilities, bridges, or other heavy civils environments.
- Strong knowledge of BS 5975 and temporary works procedures.
- Experience coordinating multiple temporary works packages on live construction projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Experience working for Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractors.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
