A freelance opportunity exists for a Temporary Works Coordinator on a highway project. Experience managing the temporary works for both structural applications and well as for earthworks will be advantageous. You will be jointly responsible for ensuring that the projects temporary works requirements are both designed and constructed in compliance with BS 5975.
Duties will, amongst others, include the following -
- Ensure the site team are provided with safe workable temporary works.
- Liaise with permanent works designers to resolve issues regarding construction sequence and buildability as necessary.
- Advise the Construction Team where temporary works designs may be required.
- Supporting designers by ensuring they have all the required information.
- Coordinating and issuing the approve design and design risk assessment.
- Managing all correspondence, calculations and design check certificates.
Requirements for this post are –
- Civil or structural Engineering diploma/degree
- Previous Temporary works Management on large projects for a tier one contractor
- An understanding of BS5975:2008 + A1 2011
- A thorough understanding of the CDM regulations
- CITB TWC, SMSTS, CSCS,
