Carmichael has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join the team to work in Warwickshire
Role Purpose:
Responsible for the management and coordination of all temporary works activities within a specified area to meet project requirements. Supporting the PCs TWC
What you'll be doing
Coordinating the MWS temporary works with the PCTWC and other members of the design and construction teams. Our client takes overall responsibility for TW, so a you’ll need to have a good understanding of CDM responsibilities involving the PC – Contractor relationship. Your activities will include:
- Checking and reviewing a range of temporary works both above and below ground.
- Managing the health and safety risk, reviewing the method statement and work plans alongside other construction documents.
- Participating in technical meetings providing support to the construction team by providing buildability advice.
- Ensuring the design meets the HS2 Environmental Minimum Requirements, including all requirements for environmental mitigation.
- Ensuring technical queries are raised in a timely manner and seek early resolution to avoid impact on the design programme.
- Maintaining an up to date TW register and close out prior to final technical assurance stages.
Who we're looking for
Previous experience as a Temporary works Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.
Qualified Civil Engineer or similar equivalent
Proven knowledge of Network Rail and Highways England technical standards and approval processes.
Depth of understanding of the construction environment for safe and buildable designs
Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements
Disciplined approach to quality assurance and documentation. Attention to detail, ensuring legal compliance and satisfying project requirements.
Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations, in particular, the Designer and principal Contractors role.
