An long term, inside IR35 opportunity exists for a Temporary Works Designer on a major rail project between Manchester and Leeds. Applicants with with experience working for principal contractors preferably on major rail joint ventures are sought after.

Duties include - 

  • Undertake design of various types of temporary works in accordance with the Alliance process, the appropriate standards and the scheme design. These could be items such as crane pad foundations, retaining structures, excavation support, assessment of structures for plant loading and much more.
  • Support ensuring the Temporary works are constructed in accordance with the design, the relevant drawings and specifications.
  • Be a point of contact between the designer and the site team for temporary works matters.
  • Assist in the Co-ordination of temporary works between the different site teams, TW designers, permanent works designers, external stakeholders and other key interfaces.
  • Support regular temporary works design meetings on the Alliance
  • Take part in specific production meetings where required

 

Requirements for this position - 

  • Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in design of temporary works, instrumentation and monitoring, and delivery of major infrastructure projects
  • Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer preferred experience
  • Skills and behavioural Competencies experience on overseeing Temporary Works Design Management and Implementation for large projects
