About the Project
This is an opportunity to join a once in a lifetime Tasmanian Project for the Creative Design and Construction of the iconic New Bridgewater Bridge.

You will be helping to shape Tasmania’s largest Infrastructure project while contributing to and growing with a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, and diverse Project Delivery Team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Construction Manager, you will be the primary contact between the Project and the various Utility Authorities. You will supervise the detailed design, construction and relocation of  Electrical, Communications, Gas and Water/Sewerage services across the length of the project.

 

About you

A key responsibility of this role is to liaise closely with the relevant utility providers. Therefore ideally, you will have an engineering technical role in a gas, electricity or local government organisation, along with strong communication and relationship building skills

You will have an Engineering Degree, along with a minimum of eight years’ experience on major Tier1 infrastructure projects. You may be a Senior Project Engineer looking for career advancement. You should have a working knowledge of Utility Authority requirements and service installation works. A background in one or more of Electrical, Gas, Telecommunications or stormwater/sewerage would be well regarded.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and continually nurturing an open, constructive and harmonious relationship with Designers, Construction and Planning personnel, Contractors and Consultants and relevant Utility providers to assure timely Project delivery of the various utility co-ordination aspects of the Project.

  • Planning and coordination of design and construction works for utility services

  • Liaise with allocated utility authorities to ensure their requirements are incorporated in the design process.  Communicate their requirements with the Design Team and consultants

  • Ensuring the timely review, issue, distribution, collation of review and finalisation, closeout of review comments of Briefs/Reports/Drawings and other relevant Technical Documentation

  • Managing the timely processing and approval of these documents to meet or exceed the requirements of the approved Program and Budget

  • Ensuring utility design activities promote the achievement of safety and environmental targets and meet related statutory/regulatory requirements.
