Our client, a leading environmental and engineering consultancy, is seeking a Utility Surveyor to bolster their team on a freelance basis, working on a prestigious major project. You will be responsible for providing utility surveys, carried out in accordance with “PAS 128:2014 Specification for underground utility detection, verification and location” published by BSI in 2014.
Knowledge:

Fundamental knowledge of survey data production principles and drawing output using AutoCAD and office data processing.

Work without direct day to day supervision and make technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.

Understand and apply own responsibilities with regards to the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Standard.

Undertake surveys as per scope and specification required by the client including working to PAS128 and company procedures.

Ability to interpret existing utility information plans and site-specific method statements & risk assessment and that all surveyors have been briefed and signed on as understood.

Understanding of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in relation to survey and relevant data types

Liaise with client on site to discuss survey requirements and report any factors which might affect the quality of the survey such as insufficient drawings, site interruptions/obstructions, restricted working hours immediately to Select Surveys management.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD based products/GIS Software
Requirements:

Degree, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in topographic/land survey

Experience in Utility surveying

Good interpersonal and communication skills

IT proficient, requiring ability to effectively operate the Microsoft Office Suite

Full UK driving license
