Our client who is delivering the £965m Chilterns Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaducts main works for HS2 require a Works Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
It will be working for one of the 3 JV Tier one contractors.
The work will be based near Ruislip.
Main Duties:
Support the project manager in the successful delivery of the project with overall responsibility for all on-site activities. To ensure that the project is delivered to the required HSEQ standards. To ensure that subcontract activities are coordinated in an efficient manner. To direct economic deployment of all direct resources (e.g. labour and plant).
Responsibilities
• Provide, maintain regulatory and standards
• Provide leadership by example, promote IIF initiative and encourage use of near miss Reporting to aid continuous improvement.
• Support delivery of all site based KPI’s
• Provide mentored leadership to foreman, gangers, operatives and subcons.
• Provide key link with customers site based supervision and maintain effective relationship
• Attend weekly team meetings and other meetings as deemed appropriate
Required Qualifications / Expertise
• Proven track record of successful project delivery as works manager
Relevant experience in multiple civil engineering activities
• Experience in heavy plant operations.
